Ariadna Szczybelski is a member of the Dutch national APECS board. Ariadna is currently finishing her PhD (2013-2017) on the development of Arctic biological indicators for the impact assessment of oil and gas activities in the Barents Sea/Svalbard region at Wageningen University (The Netherlands). She holds a Master’s in Environmental Toxicology from the University of Valencia (Spain).
During her PhD she visited Ny-Ålesund research station (Svalbard) in 2013-2014 where she performed different laboratory exposure studies with local benthic invertebrates. She would like to continue with her studies on contaminants in Arctic coastal and marine ecosystems within academia although she acknowledges an educational role related to marine pollution would be also fulfilling.
